Iceskimo is a new, shaved snow, dessert restaurant that opened their doors on November 1, 2015.

Iceskimo’s grand opening was spectacular and brought a crowd of people to their location on Convoy Street, San Diego, California. Iceskimo offered free shaved snow and toppings at the grand opening to all customers between three and six o’clock p.m.

What is Shaved Snow?

Iceskimo’s Shaved Snow is a Taiwanese dessert made from a frozen block of milk and flavoring. Shaved snow is similar to frozen yogurt and ice cream. The shaved snow is made from a frozen block that spins on a machine that shaves the snow into thin, fluffy, croissant like layers. Once the shaved snow is in the form of the fluffy croissant layers, the toppings are added. The light and fluffy consistency of the shaved snow leaves the customer pleased and satisfied.

Iceskimo gives two options to the customer: a building your own snow, or pick from the favorites section that include the top picked flavors and toppings. The build your own snow section is where you choose flavors like chocolate, strawberry, original milk, lychee, passion fruit, black sesame, and lemon. The customer can also choice a toppings bar to put as many or as little toppings as they want. Iceskimo also serves homemade mocha and boba to put on top of the shaved snow. Cost of the toppings and shaved snow is determined by the weight. Iceskimo also offers a “stamp card” to promote return customers.
